Working on Striations
This is a section of my collection of 'striations' made from the local newspaper, "The Bray People." From these 'striations' I drew out landscapes which I then etched on copper or carved into lino and finally printed.

Pat Burnes
Pat Burnes: "My artwork is derived from my experience of emigration; memory, loss and separation. It is through the processes of artmaking that I seek to distil my intense connection to the land, the Irish landscape in general and the landscape and family history in the town of Bray, County Wicklow in particular.
My desire is to make work that not only reflects this particular place but that also references the traditions of making art whether that be through painting, printing, sculpture, installation, or photography."
